Bicycling In Crested Butte, Colorado
Yesterday I visited Crested Butte to get away and do some cycling. Outside of town, I captured this nice shot of Mt. Crested Butte with my bike in the foreground. Ahhhh what scenery! -Steve (August 9, 2010) The View From Horseshoe Mountain
Two weeks ago I climbed Horseshoe Mountain (13,898') in the Mosquito Range. The nearest towns are Leadville and Fairplay. I just love the photo above. What stunning mountain scenery and such a beautiful sky above. 14er Mt. Sherman is the tall peak right of center. On Friday, I also hiked Mt. Evans from Guanella Pass. Definitely enjoy my mountain scenery photos and video, and know that you can also drive to Mt. As I drove toward Weston Pass on the east side in Park County, I enjoyed this stunning view of the Buffalo Peaks. East Buffalo Peak (left) is the taller peak at 13,300 feet at the summit. Last week my friend Phil Ladden and I hiked to the summit of Mt. Sherman, a Colorado 14er. This mountain is located in the Mosquito Range between the towns of Leadville and Fairplay. This particular photo was taken as I looked down on the trail I had just climbed. I snapped this photo during my climb of three Colorado 14ers: Mt. Democrat, Mt. Lincoln and Mt. Bross. These mountains, located west of Alma, are very popular among the climbing community. The most common hiking route for these mountains is at Kite Lake in Park County. Now that summer has arrived, I have spent much more time on the trails. I recently climbed Quail Mountain and had an enjoyable hike in Low Pass Gulch near Granite on Saturday. Happy trails! -Steve (June 21, 2010)
